Mother’s Day is observed in North America on May 12 and to help celebrate mothers, this month’s column is dedicated to busy moms who have trouble finding the time to focus on their looks.
Here are some fast and easy beauty tips that will save mothers time in the morning when they’re trying to get themselves and the kids ready and out the door in time for school and work.
Try overnight braids
— Every night before going to bed, put your hair in a French braid. When you wake up it will be wavy and you won’t need any heat styling aids. Smooth any flyaways with a tiny bit of serum.
Embrace your natural hair texture
— Just add lots of shine with a leave-in conditioner, spray shine or hair gloss.
Use a hair colour touch-up pen
— If non-pigmented (white) hairs are bothering you and you’re still a week away from your colour appointment, these pens — or mascara — will help to keep them covered.
Get eyelash extensions or an eyelash perm
— With today’s rushed mornings, mothers often don’t have the time to put on any make-up. Try eyelash extensions or an eyelash perm. With only an eyeliner added these will wake your eyes up. To pull it all together just add a bright, bold lipstick.
Go natural-looking on your nails
— With a natural gel overlay, you never have to worry about chips or getting tired of a colour on your nails and your nails will be more durable and lasting.
Get a nude/French polish
— With this approach, growing out polished toenails or fingernails won’t be so noticeable if you have to delay your next appointment.
