It’s February which means … KAABOO Cayman is here! The excitement has been building for the past year and to ensure you have the best experience possible, here are some tips:
Five senses under the sun
KAABOO Cayman is more than a music festival; it’s a live entertainment experience designed to appeal to all five senses through a range of activities over the weekend. Be sure to take them all in, including the contemporary art displays, hilarious comedy acts, mouth-watering cuisine, refreshing libations and personal indulgences like massages and hair treatments.
Make a plan
Download the KAABOO app to check set times and make a game plan for the day. If there is a comedian you are dying to see, purchase a laugh pass on the KAABOO website to guarantee entrance. Prices range from US$10 to $50 for a guaranteed seat or US$200 to $400 for a reserved table for four and a bottle of sparkling wine. If you haven’t purchased a laugh pass, you’ll have to queue at the Humor Me tent, so keep an eye on your watch as there is limited seating. The app will help you map out where you need to be and when, but remember as the day unfolds, this festival will feature unexpected activities that may invite you to spend a little extra time here and there, so don’t be afraid to break from your plan and go with the flow.
Live in the moment
Your first instinct may be to reach for your phone and snap a photo, but challenge yourself to take it all in before you load it straight to social media. It’s fun to share experiences through the world of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and more but perhaps post a #latergram and focus on being in the present. This is the largest festival to ever hit Grand Cayman and you’re going to want to remember every second.
KAABOO is a two-day, daytime-to-evening experience. While there will be seating areas on site, you’ll want to be comfortable when dancing to your favourite bands or making your way around the festival grounds. Opt for comfortable shoes and flexible clothing, but know that festival-goers are quite trendy, so break out your best looks such as a classic Duran Duran T-shirt or a crop top. Be sure to consider the heat when dressing, as well; lightweight fabrics and hats are great for keeping out the sun. And don’t forget to slather on the sunscreen.
