Here’s a roundup of some fun and educational camps happening throughout Camana Bay in July and August that can keep children constructively occupied over their summer break from school.
CAYMAN MUSIC SCHOOL
Cayman Music School will hold an action-packed music camp for children ages 5 to 12 for the month of July. A broad range of themes and lessons will be offered, including: ear training, band jamming, instrument mastery, live storytelling, talent show, arts and crafts, dance, yoga, drum circle, karaoke, and world music. The children will perform a music recital at the end of each week.
The camp runs from 8am to 2:30pm on the following weeks: 4-7 July; 10-14 July; 7-21 July; and 24-28 July. There are two options for enrollment: $55 per day or $250 per week.

Starfish Village will have weekly themed camps for children ages 3 to 12, offering a little something for everyone, such as: “Robot/Lego/STEM,” 4-7 July; “Time Travellers/Mission Impossible,” 10-14 July; “Amazing Race,” 17-21 July; “Starfish Camp Got Talent,” 24-28 July; and “Young Chefs,” 31 July-4 August.
Daily rates are as follows: $45 half day (8am to noon or noon to 4pm); $80 full day (8am to 3pm). Weekly rates: half day, $200; full day, $350. Deadline to register is 15 June.

Young athletes of all levels can get active and improve their skills at the 7th Annual Multi-Sport Camp, which takes place at the Camana Bay Sports Complex 4 July through 28 July.
Open to children ages 6 to 14, the camp promises to be fun and challenging while exposing participants to a variety of sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, swimming, football and more.
The camp runs from 8am to 12pm, and dates and costs are as follows: 4-7 July, $125; 10-14 July – $150; and 17-21 July – $150.
The 9th Annual Basketball Camp will take place at The Arts & Recreation Centre from 24-28 July and is for children ages 7 to 17 interested in improving their skills through drills and live games. Aspiring hoop stars will receive authentic NBA instruction and train with a special guest from the NBA. The camp is separated into a morning and afternoon group: ages 7 to 12, 8:30am to 12pm; ages 12 to 17, 12:30pm to 4pm. The cost is $150 for the week.

The Budding Chef Culinary Camp at Bon Vivant offers cooking classes for two different age classes each day.
The Kids Budding Chefs camp is ideal for children ages 4 to 7. It runs from 11am to noon with a new theme each day: 10 July, Pasta Making; 11 July, Easy Snacks; 12 July, Farm-to-Table; and 13 July, Pizza Mania.
The Tweens Budding Chefs camp is for children ages 8 to 12 and runs from 1pm to 2pm as follows: 10 July, Pasta Making; 11 July, Super Snacks; 12 July, Farm-to-Table; and 13 July, Chopped (modelled after the popular TV show).
Cost is $35 per class. Please advise Bon Vivant of any allergies in advance as nuts may be used in class. Children ages 4 and 5 should have an adult present.

The Shutterbugs Summer Camp is for those interested in learning the art of photography. Children will explore the beautiful grounds of Camana Bay while discovering the secrets of taking great photos, as well as how to take care of their camera. They are required to bring in their own camera, charged battery and memory card, as well as a hat, sunscreen and water bottle.
The daily camp runs from 9am to noon and costs $45 per day. For children ages 8 to 11, camp is held each Monday (10, 17, 24, 31 July and 7 and 14 August); and for children ages 11 to 16, camp is held each Friday (14, 21, 28 July and 4, 11 and 18 August).
