More than 80 notable speakers and 500 executives from the global alternative investment industry will convene next month for the sixth annual Cayman Alternative Investment Summit, better known as CAIS.
Held at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa from Feb. 6 to Feb. 8, CAIS19 will examine the impact of digital disruption and the trends shaping the future of the alternatives industry through its theme “Tech-Tonic Shift: Innovation in Alternative Investments.”
In line with the current macro and global climate, speakers will also discuss the impact of globalisation, populism and how the alternatives industry can embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead in the markets.
The high-profile roster of alternatives industry speakers includes:
Ian Bremmer, president and founder of Eurasia Group and GZERO Media
Daniel D’Aniello, co-founder of The Carlyle Group
Michelle McCloskey, president of Man Americas at Man Group
Teresa Barger, CEO of Cartica Management
Bettina Warburg, co-founder of Animal Ventures
Mark Yusko, CEO and CIO of Morgan Creek Capital
With the first day of the conference focusing on what’s to come in the digital future, panels will feature leading thinkers on cryptocurrency and blockchain including Scott Kupor, managing partner at Andreessen Horowitz, and Travis Kling, founder and CIO of Ikigai.
Joining the line-up at CAIS19, a number of additional speakers will discuss how innovation is pushing the envelope across other industries. Exploring a different kind of tectonic shift, expedition medic and research scientist Dr. Beth Healey will share insights from the Antarctic. Mike Penrose, CEO of UNICEF in the UK, will also join CAIS regular Lord Michael Hastings for a panel on philanthropy in the modern age.
“We’re pleased to welcome such an esteemed group of speakers from across all corners of the global alternatives industry to CAIS this year,” said Chris Duggan, director of CAIS and VP of business development for event sponsor, Dart. “Given the heightened attention around the digital assets space at the moment, we found it particularly important to incorporate experts in this field into the 2019 conference. It is our goal to drive discussion and collaboration among attendees on the innovations forever changing the industry.”
Registration for CAIS19 is now live at www.cais.ky. Prices start at US$3,995 for a full delegate pass.
