Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa on Seven Mile Beach has been open less than a year, but it is already winning awards.
Last month, the American Automobile Association — better known as AAA — awarded Kimpton Seafire with its Five Diamond Rating, the highest possible designation from the non-profit federation of affiliated motor clubs that also offers various travel services. Its comprehensive and well-known Diamond Rating System of lodging and restaurants covers all of North America and the Caribbean.
AAA Diamond ratings for hotels represent a combination of the overall quality, range of facilities, and level of services offered by the property. Less than 0.3 per cent of AAA Diamond Rated properties receive the prestigious Five Diamond Award designation and Kimpton Seafire becomes one of only nine resorts in the Caribbean to achieve that status.
Dart Real Estate President Jackie Doak said the company considers the AAA Five Diamond Award to be “an honour of the highest magnitude.”
“It’s clear we made the right choice when we partnered with Kimpton to bring its warm, authentic service to the Cayman Islands,” she said. “The brand’s ‘luxury without attitude’ approach to service is a perfect fit for our Caribbean environment and complements Dart Real Estate’s commitment to creating distinctive places built around the guest experience.”
Kimpton Seafire, which welcomed its first guests in November 2016, is Dart’s first hotel project in the Cayman Islands and the first resort to open on Grand Cayman in more than a decade. The Dart group designed, developed and managed the construction of the project, which also includes The Residences at Seafire, a luxury Cayman residential property that will open later this year. Owners at The Residences will have convenient access to the services and facilities offered at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa.
Alasdair Foster, president of Active Investments at Dart Enterprises, said it was a tremendous accomplishment for a resort to earn a place on the AAA Five Diamond list in its first year of operations.
“The achievement of this accolade is truly extraordinary and a testament to Seafire’s enthusiastic and dedicated staff, as well the hard work and talents of the design and construction team.” Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa General Manager Steven André said the management and staff were very proud to have received the honour.
“Since opening our doors in November 2016, we’ve established Seafire as the preeminent Grand Cayman destination and introduced Kimpton’s signature heartfelt care to the island,” he said. “It’s what makes us so unique in this category and so beloved by those who stay with us.”
