Cayman Ferries now offers a new way to explore the Cayman Kai, Rum Point and North Side areas – on a bicycle.
The Cayman Ferries water taxi departs at various times throughout the day from the Camana Bay Harbour for the North Sound. It arrives at Kaibo Yacht Club approximately 25 minutes later.
Once there, you can simply disembark from the ferry and hop onto one of 15 unisex bikes to explore the “village of North Side at your own pace,” says Ronnie Anglin, owner and operator of the Cayman Ferries business.
“People can ride them over to Rum Point or Starfish Point, for example, and then hop back on the ferry when they are ready to head back to the Camana Bay Harbour.”
Each bike includes a basket on the front and a carrier on the back. “There’s plenty of room to hold snorkelling and swim gear, drinks, mangoes or what have you,” he says.
The bike rentals are $25 US for the day; $10 US for two hours; and $5 US for every hour after the initial two-hour rental.
The water ferry runs Tuesdays through Sundays several times a day at a cost of $25 US, round-trip.
Reservations are required for both the ferry and bike rentals. For more information, call Cayman Ferries at (345) 327-7777 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also visit the Camana Bay website for the full ferry schedule:
