Dart’s IT specialists and facility management are atingle; Camana Bay has earned the Service Organization Controls II standard certification for its data centre.
The certification, which comes from the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and is usually abbreviated as AICPA SOC 2, is a standard that focuses on reporting controls for security, availability, processing, integrity, confidentiality and privacy of a system. The protocol, which is designed for more advanced IT service providers, certifies that the controls regulating interaction with clients’ technology platforms are appropriate for businesses whose regulators, auditors, compliance officers, business partners and executives require documented standards.
Reynaldo Powery, Dart’s data centre administrator, said the certification was an important development for Camana Bay.
“We are very pleased to have recently attained Type II SOC 2 certification for the Camana Bay data centre,” he said. “This certification affirms our security and maintenance policies meet the highest standards and it ensures our tenants and other customers have a safe, secure and reliable computing environment.”
Dart’s Senior Vice President Information Technology Christian Blais said the certification was part of the continuing infrastructure investment at Camana Bay.
“This is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain alignment with global technology standards and ensure that Camana Bay continues to be the premier location for companies that rely on high-quality technology infrastructure for their operations,” he said.
Dart Leasing Manager Bessanio Dilbert said the Type II SOC 2 certification showed Dart and Camana Bay were committed to keeping up with global IT best practices.
“This is yet another milestone in our efforts to provide our current and potential customers the peace of mind knowing that their data is safe and secure with us.”
