Artists of all ages are invited to leave their easels at home and turn their visions into chalk masterpieces on Camana Bay’s newest public avenue, the Rise.
On Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Chalkfest returns to Camana Bay, transforming the Rise into a colourful playground featuring a live-action art exhibit, where all are invited to draw on the sidewalk, giving pedestrians the chance to watch art come alive.
The event is open to artists and would-be artists of all ages and abilities with a registration fee of CI$2 for children 4 and under, CI$5 for kids and teens aged 5-17 and CI$10 for adults 18 and up. All proceeds will benefit The National Gallery Outreach Programme and there will be prizes awarded for the best work. Chalk will be provided as part of the registration fee and participants are encouraged to bring rags, sponges and buckets to help with blending and covering large areas.
This annual family-friendly event also includes an interactive story time, games, music and face painting. The Easter Bunny will even make an appearance.
