Innovation and digital disruption continue to be top of the agenda for the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit — better known as CAIS — as next year’s conference will explore their impact on the alternative investment space.
With the theme “Tech-tonic shifts: Innovation in Alternative Investments,” CAIS19 will be held at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa on Feb. 7 and 8.
The Cayman Alternative Investment Summit gathers together investors, fund managers, academics, economists and regulators to share insights and discuss the events shaping the alternative investments industry today.
Building on the success of last year’s “Wired” theme, which included a visit from Sophia the Robot to illustrate how artificial intelligence is evolving, CAIS19 will feature a diverse line-up of high-profile names and thought leaders from around the globe speaking on a range of topics including cryptocurrencies and blockchain, impact investing, geo-political change, private equity and real estate as an alternative investment.
“We chose a technology- and innovation-based theme for the second year in a row to reflect the transformational impact it is having on the industry,” said Chris Duggan, Dart’s vice president of business development and a director of CAIS. “Looking to the year ahead, digital disruption will continue to impact the industry on an unprecedented scale and will fundamentally change the way businesses operate.”
Duggan and his colleagues on the CAIS19 conference board, KPMG partner Tony Cowell and Financial Times journalist Amin Rajan, will announce the full conference agenda and headline speakers later this month. In the past, CAIS has attracted top-class keynote speakers such as Will Smith, George W. Bush, Al Pacino, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jay Leno.
“CAIS19 offers delegates a chance to hear from some of today’s most influential speakers,” continued Duggan. “It also allows us to showcase Cayman as the jurisdiction of choice for hedge funds and other alternative investments to a broader audience, working with our media partners to reach investors around the globe.”
