As we celebrate International Charity Day, Shoppers' Night Out organisers are doing their part to give back.

The 12th-annual Shoppers' Night Out event is slated for Thursday, 26 Sept. and, this year, shoppers will find plenty of opportunities to give in addition to finding some of the best deals of the year at their favourite retailers around the Town Centre.

"We're thrilled to partner with the Cayman Islands Cancer Society for this year's Shoppers' Night Out at Camana Bay, aligning with International Charity Day in September," Dart Senior Manager, Marketing and Brand Strategy Christy Whittaker said. "This collaboration not only brings our community together for the biggest sale event of the year, but also provides a meaningful opportunity to give back."

Here's how it works: The Camana Bay team will be located under the Observation Tower accepting charitable donations from 5 to 8 p.m. Those who donate a minimum of CI$10 will receive a special Camana Bay item while supplies last.

The International Day of Charity was established by the United Nations with the objective of sensitising and mobilising people, non-governmental organisations and stakeholders all around the world to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities.

The date of 5 Sept. was chosen in order to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 "for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitute a threat to peace."
