Simone Ross will take on the role of Village Montessori principal starting for the 2023-2024 academic year, the school recently announced.
Ross has been an educator for more than 20 years, teaching a range of age groups from toddlers to late elementary school students and has gained administrative leadership experience throughout her career. She began working with Starfish Village / Village Montessori since the school opened at Camana Bay in July 2014.
"Having lived in Grand Cayman all my life, I have had the opportunity to volunteer and work in the field of education, both public and private," she said. "This involvement has enhanced my knowledge of our local education system, our youth and the things our community strives for through positive and active volunteer programs."
Ross earned her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and her Montessori Toddler certification. She became a founding director of Feed Our Future Cayman in 2011 and remains active in the organisation, and is also set to become director of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society this summer.
"It has long been my belief that every person has the gift of love and talent; it is our job as educators to enrich those talents into positive academic or vocational expertise," she said. "I love nature and look forward to sharing my passion for teaching and learning with our school family."
