Camana Bay is expanding its fitness offerings with the arrival of two innovative gyms. MyFirstGym is opening its doors to families with children between the ages of 7 months and 15 years. For adults, FS8 offers a fusion of yoga, Pilates and functional strength training. Both gyms, owned by Ian and Maralynn Smith, are slated to open November 2024 and are located on the second floor of 55 Market Street.
FS8: A new era of low-impact, high-intensity workouts
FS8 is a dynamic concept set to redefine the traditional workout experience. Much like its sister company, F45, this group fitness studio encourages community connection while prioritising low-impact, high-intensity exercises designed to lengthen, strengthen and stabilise the body.
“We plan to offer a flexible and convenient class timetable to fit in with the multitude of businesses within Camana Bay, so members can easily attend either before or after work, or during their lunch break," Ian Smith said.
FS8 merges key components of Pilates, yoga and tone classes, offering a comprehensive full-body approach to low-impact, high-intensity training. Merging both physical and psychological well-being, FS8 will offer a weekly programme of workouts that includes a variety of exercises to enhance muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and recovery.
MyFirstGym: A fit, fun future for Cayman’s youngsters
MyFirstGym is a family-oriented fitness centre dedicated to nurturing and inspiring a love of movement and fitness in children between the ages of 7 months to 15 years old. With coach-led, structured classes designed by a paediatric physiotherapist, children can participate in more than 60 classes.
MyFirstGym prioritises family experience, ensuring that both junior and senior classes are held in the same location, timetables are conveniently scheduled and classes are easy to book through the MyFirstGym app.
“Camana Bay is the perfect spot for both MyFirstGym and FS8, with its central location, convenient parking and easy access. Camana Bay is synonymous with kids’ playtime, with the two fountains and grassy areas always proving popular with kids and their families," Maralynn Smith said.
The addition of FS8 and MyFirstGym to the Camana Bay community signifies an ongoing commitment to providing residents and visitors with world-class fitness facilities. These studios offer a unique and holistic approach to wellness, guiding and supporting individuals of all fitness levels and ages. With a focus on community and results, FS8 and MyFirstGym are poised to become exciting and integral parts of the Camana Bay lifestyle.
