Cask, the premier whisky bar in Cayman, is making headlines in the local beverage scene with the introduction of an exclusive beer named, “Not Whisky.”
This unique creation showcases Cask’s commitment to diversifying its offerings beyond its impressive collection of over 420 whiskies.
“It’s a little bit heavier than a lager or a blonde, but not quite as hoppy as an IPA,” explains Matt McPherson, co-owner of Cask. “It’s designed to be a session-style beer that’s exclusive to Cask. That was the intention behind it.”
While Cask is widely recognised for its extensive whisky selection, McPherson highlights the goal of appealing to a broad spectrum of tastes.
“We want to be known for having a great range of drinks,” he says. “We have a great wine list, expertly crafted cocktails and, of course, the whisky. Our cocktail experts and well-trained staff have curated offerings that can stand up to any world-class bar.”
The launch of Not Whisky represents more than just a new beer; it reflects Cask’s innovative spirit and dedication to working with local suppliers.
“We’re really trying to find unique partnerships on the island," Cask co-owner Rob Eyers says. "Not Whisky is one example of that. We’re also exploring food pairings with whisky and other creative collaborations.”
Eyers acknowledges that whisky isn’t for everyone, which inspired the creation of Not Whisky. Cask has reimagined the traditional whisky bar experience, ensuring that those who appreciate whisky can share the enjoyment with companions who might not.
As Cask forges ahead in its mission to innovate the whisky bar scene, the advent of Not Whisky marks a significant step toward inclusivity, creativity and collaboration. Not Whisky is now available, highlighting Cask's commitment to offer something for everyone, whether you’re a whisky connoisseur or just in search of a good beer in a lively setting.
