Abacus co-owner Markus Mueri has been operating restaurants in Camana Bay since the inception of this now-bustling community. He has spent a lot of time in the Town Centre throughout the years.

"It has become home," he told Camana Bay Times in a 2022 article on Camana Bay's 15-year anniversary.

It's a fitting description, because home is also where you find family. Mueri's son, 12-year-old Max, has had a front row seat watching his restaurateur father build relationships and develop his businesses lining the Paseo and Crescent.

"To be a father means, to me, being dedicated to helping my son or daughter in the best way I can," Markus Mueri said. "Your son or daughter is only as good as how you influence them to be."

As the pair celebrate Father's Day on 16 June, there's no denying the role Camana Bay has played in their lives. Max Mueri grew up around his father's restaurants and spent much of his childhood celebrating milestones and memorable moments in the Town Centre.

"The reason that Camana Bay is so good for families to spend time with their loved ones is that Camana Bay isn’t a group of people, it’s a community where everyone has your back," Max Mueri said.
