Camana Bay will once again support the Cayman Food Bank through the Camana Bay Christmas Give, now in its 10th year. The Give is an annual charitable holiday initiative that benefits non-profit organisations through monetary and in-kind donations.
The Cayman Food Bank will celebrate three years of operating this Christmas season. The local non-profit organisation is home to the Cayman Islands’ central food bank that provides support to a number of organisations and individuals on island.
Naomi Law, Director at Cayman Food Bank, explained the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on existing operations of the Cayman Food Bank and the ongoing – and growing – need for the services it provides.
“In Cayman we have seen a huge increase in those who are in need, whether its food support or other financial support. The Cayman Food Bank operations increased from assisting 400 families per month to 3,200 families per month. Additionally, we were delivering 100 to 200 hot meals per day in response to the crisis. We are now consistently helping around 1,000 families per month. All funds raised through the Camana Bay Christmas Give will assist us with our support of the local community and ensure that people are not going hungry.”
Camana Bay Marketing Manager Christy Whittaker shared the importance of supporting those in need, especially during the holiday season. “The work that the Cayman Food Bank does in helping bring food to the tables of families in need during the holidays helps ensure a joyful holiday for all.”
Cayman Islands residents can support this worthy cause through a host of holiday events geared to providing interactive, family-friendly fun for all ages.
