An introduction to Kapok

An introduction to Kapok

Visitors to Camana Bay will have probably noticed the bold-coloured, 10-storey structure going up on Bismarckia Way across from Foster's.

When this landmark building opens in fall 2022, Kapok will offer 89 opportunities to lease and live in Grand Cayman’s most walkable neighbourhood, just in time to mark Camana Bay’s 15th anniversary.

INDOORS
Floor plans range from 585-square-foot studios to 1,786-square-foot three-bedroom apartments, each with a private terrace or balcony. Every apartment is complemented with a modern palette of colours, paired with soft curves and comforting textiles and linens that lend a sense of warmth and intimacy.

Seating is modular for both entertaining and lounging, with movable ottomans; a perfect setting for quiet conversations, reading and relaxing.

Oversized leaning mirrors, floating shelves, art prints and standing planters are standard in all units.

No opportunity for discreet storage is wasted. A cocktail table will have a lazy Susan top or hidden storage underneath or both.

Hooks, shelves and picture rails are liberally placed. Ottoman beds safely store spare sheets, blankets, pillows and toys under the mattress without compromising on comfort.

Kitchens similarly provide ample storage, ensuring that quartz countertops need never be obscured. High-efficiency appliances are also standard. A variety of sleek bathroom designs complement the apartments.

GATHERING PLACES
Set against a striking abstract mural, Level 2’s pool deck and lounges are fitted with kitchens complete with barbecues and adjustable seating.

Umbrellas and a cantilevered roof over the barbecue area provide welcome shade. Landscaping placed throughout the space softens edges and adds privacy.

The rooftop gathering place offers seating and dining areas, another kitchen and barbecue area, a yoga lawn and tiered concrete seating that overlooks the Seven Mile Beach.

Two rentable guest suites on the ground floor offer comforts similar to a hotel.

LIVABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
“The health and well-being of Kapok residents were central to the design process," said Dart President of Real Estate Asset Management Justin Howe. “Now more than ever, factors like ventilation, clean air and sanitation are on all our minds. Kapok will carry the Fitwel seal of approval, ensuring its energy consumption, air quality and safety are constantly monitored, regulated and refined.”

Camana Bay also prioritises the pedestrian, and not just for the health benefits. Reducing the need to drive will help people connect to each other and to nature. A walkable community means fewer cars, less noise and fresher air.

Leasing will begin this summer. To register interest and to enquire, email kapok@camanabay.com.
